"Nice Day For a Red Wedding" 7-13-2022

“Nice Day For a Red Wedding”

If I can quickly encapsulate the evidence and information presented by the January 6, Committee during it’s 7th hearing, it would be something along the lines of 76 year-old man and not an impressionable child, on December 19, 2020 sends out a “call to action” tweet encouraging his loyal supporters to travel to Washington, DC on Jan. 6, 2021 if for no other reason that “…will be wild,”

Almost sounds as if it were an invitation to a water park but alas, it was not and it was all down hill from there.

There were plenty of fireworks along the way. We got to hear from today’s suit, former White House Counsel Pat Cipollone, who as with Bill Barr decided to take a bad situation and try to make it better by coming clean at the last possible moment.

I’m still rather in awe that Cipollone suggested Pence deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom for doing his job and refusing to block the Electoral College certification process after carrying Trump’s unholy water for the previous four years.

There were plenty of “plays well with the audience” video snippets from familiar faces. Ivanka chimed in about the Trump administration coming to an end on December 14, 2020, after the electors met.

Let’s see now, who else was there. Stave Bannon playing Nostradamus “all hell is going to break loose tomorrow,” on the radio? Alex Jones leading a somewhat bellowing walrus 1776 chant? Eric Herschmann (Panda Guy) recounting a conspiracy theory involving Venezuela, and access to the internet via thermostats. Rudy? Check, check, check, and check.

Naming names of the Trump Republicans in Congress (The Usual Suspects) this time in the context of a December 21, secret meeting with Trump? Brian Babin, Andy Biggs, Matt Gaetz, Louie Gohmert, Paul Gosar, Andy Harris, Jody Hice, Jim Jordan, Scott Perry, and Marjorie Taylor Green (aka The Beaver).

We saw Cassidy Hutchinson throw Mark Meadows under the bus again. This time for aligning himself with the whatever it takes to keep Trump in office contingent at all costs with or without any actual legal authority to do so. That had to hurt.

Not surprisingly, we heard more about the battle between Team Normal and Team Crazy in the context of an “unhinged,” “heated and profane” meeting lasting over six hours.

This is not to say that no less than former national security adviser Mike (30 days in the hole) Flynn’s suggestion Trump have the military seize voting machines under the watchful eyes of suddenly special counsel Sidney Powell to contest the election wasn’t worth the price of admission and the Dr. Pepper can in Powell’s hand was if not classy, classic.

Then the mood, or at least mine, changed. It was when the night crawlers, bedbugs and tarantulas went onto their social media sites and started responding to their Dear Leaders call to protect the Fatherland. To put it mildly, it was ugly and exceedingly violent.

Among the various comments posted many included blatant racist messages including “Day of the Rope” and “White Revolution.” Shameless admissions of future brutality were hardly off-limits. One poster stated his intentions to “bring handcuffs and wait near the tunnels.”

Recommendations as to the appropriate weaponry one should bring to an insurrection included "body armor, knuckles, shields, bats, pepper spray, whatever it takes.”

An anonymous 4chan commentator posted “I’m ready to die for my beliefs,” “Are you ready to die police?”

On YouTube, a poster alluded to January 6 as a “Red Wedding” a slang word for mass slaughter.

My best guess is quite a few of these nut cases showed up on January 6, to Stop the Steal, defeat tyranny and even engage in what Roger Stone described as "This is a struggle between dark and light," “And if we fail, America will step off into a thousand years of darkness.”

They came, they saw, now, it’s all on video for the world to see. Oh, and did I mention, these rank & file followers and soon to be foot soldiers were duped? There was never any real political cause or agenda. Only a last-ditch, dangerous scheme for Trump to retain the power of the presidency at any price anyone but himself was willing to pay.

There was verbiage about the need to “connect the dots” back to their source for the Insurrection was not a spontaneous happening or tourist visit to the Capitol Building that got out of hand.

As Jamie Raskin mentioned, all it takes to start a coup is a politician who doesn’t accept the fact he lost a fair election and accepting the use of violence as a legitimate form of redress.

Trump has a potential mob. He needs a sherpa. Within minutes of infamous December 19 tweet, he gets it. Through a chat called Friends of Roger Stone (FOS) the Oath Keepers, Proud Boys and the Florida Three Percenters announce via tweet they have reached an agreement to work together. The dots lead back to the White House.

But with the wheels in motion, it was countdown time and if that rat Mike Pence didn’t do the right thing, we were going to find out what was to be Trump’s true legacy, so dubbed by Jamie Raskin as American carnage.

It is still a bit difficult for me to understand how Stephen Ayres of Ohio now finds himself a family man without a house and a former cabinet maker who lost his job all on account of his belief in the “big lie.”

Unfortunately his misplaced fervor led him to enter the Capitol Building and he pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly and disruptive conduct. He no longer believes in the “big lie” having decided it was too big of a conspiracy to keep quiet.

As it turns out, this seemingly nice guy is a nice guy. Of his own initiative he was overheard telling Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn “I’m really sorry” followed by a short embrace. Ayres then offered his apology and hand shake to Sgt. Aquilino Gonell. I wish him well.

The last to testify was Jason Van Tatenhove, a former member of the Oath Keepers. If I may summarize, the Oath Keepers are a paramilitary organization made up of vets who do not like to call themselves a militia but they are and a violent one at that.

Not surprisingly, they dabble in Holocaust denial and would have employed Jason’s skill as a graphic designer to create a “take ‘em out” deck of cards featuring Hillary Clinton as the Queen of Hearts.

Lastly, what would a J6 hearing be without a Liz Cheney bombshell to chew on. Seems the dots of potential witness tampering charges have landed squarely at the feet of what I imagine was an absentminded, standing in a buffet line with nothing better to do than call a potential J6 witness by no less than Trump himself.

Ms. Cheney assures us all steps have been taken to protect the integrity of the J6 investigative process. Next week? A minute by minute review of the events that took place on January 6, 2021. Can’t wait. You?

In my opinion, Mr. Trump is a very disturbed man who must be confined to a sanatorium. Dr. Jaime
